good-bye cold!

it is christmas time everywhere, therefore we can't tell ourselves anymore that winter might not come this year, that it might not be freezing cold when we wake up in the morning... don't worry, i'm not here to express my winter blues, but to send you right back to the summer time again!

this song by elend øye was already released in august, when it fitted perfectly to the season. listenting to it now will make you feel warm and cozy so that you can forget the chistmas present list and the cold temperatures and head back to summer for 4min.

das ist geschichte

aufwühlend sind die bilder und artikel, die uns die letzten tage aus ägypten erreichen. momentan wird sehr viel berichtet, dennoch habe ich mich dazu entschlossen, etwas kurzes zu schreiben. warum? weil wir jeden tag geschichte miterleben und oftmals überhaupt nicht bemerken, das dem so ist. doch dieser tage passiert dies ganz unumstritten.
30 jahre lang hat dort ein herrscher unnachgiebig regiert, und dabei dem land mehr geschadet, als genutzt. viel zu viele menschen leben unter ärmlichsten verhältnissen, ägypten lebt fast nur von seinen touristen. von all dem haben wir wenig mitbekommen. wenn man bedenkt, wie viele deutsche jedes jahr in ägypten urlaub machen, sind worte des entsetzens über die lage sehr rar gewesen.
seit wenigen tagen überschlagen sich nun die ereignisse. mubarak lässt facebook und twitter sperren, legt die mobilfunknetze lahm, lässt militär in den straßen auffahren, verordnet ausgangssperre.
aber es hilft ihm alles nichts. die ägypter wollen ihren herrscher nicht länger erdulden und demonstrieren auf der straße für einen demokratischen freien staat, mehr wohlstand. stellen sich vor die panzer der armee, umgehen die verhängte ausgangsperre. riskieren ihr leben, ihre sicherheit.
das sind augenblicke, in denen man die luft anhalten muss, vor ehrfurcht.
