it's been a while this film went out, but nevertheless it is worth a post especially regarding the music they chose!
rose, a charming girl from the countryside decides to apply for a job as a secretary, the most fashionable job these days. her problem: she doesn't have any of the qualities required for the job, except her ability to type very fast with only two fingers. finally she leaves her little town... not to be a secretary, but to win a speed typewriting competition!

yesterday i saw the new gainsbourg movie in the cinema.

first of all: happy new year!
last week i watched a great documentary about charlie chaplin's life.
it really made want to see all of his movies. even though silent films are more than old-fashioned now, in those days his movies were striking and simply ingenious.

another interesting fact about charlie chaplin: in real life he looked very handsome, which is quite a contrast to his tramp character.

gestern war ich im arena kino. in diesem kleinen 2-säle-kino läuft derzeit noch der historienfilm taking woodstock.

im gegensatz zur dokumentation woodstock beschäftigt sich dieser film nicht ausschließlich mit den live-auftritten der musiker, sondern hält seinen fokus auf das persönliche schicksal des jungen mannes elliot tiber aus dem örtchen bethel. der 34-jährige elliot versucht den drohenden finanziellen ruin seiner eltern, die in bethel erfolglos ein motel betreiben, abzuwenden. als präsident der lokalen handelskammer stellt er sich jährlich die lizenz, ein musikfestival zu veranstalten, selbst aus. dieses jahr soll eine moderne schauspielgruppe, die derzeit in der scheune des motels haust, auftreten.
als elliot erfährt, dass der produzent michael lang ein musikfestival plant, wittert er die chance für seine eltern und nimmt den kontakt auf. michael lang hat bisher keinen veranstaltungsort, trotz einem mehr als gut laufendem vorverkauf will kein ort das festival.
mit viel überredungskunst schafft es elliot die macher des woodstock von bethel zu überzeugen, damit sorgt er allerdings nicht nur für ärger mit einigen seiner mitbürger, sondern auch für rund eine million besucher. ausgegangen sind die veranstalter von 60 000 menschen - ein chaos ist also vorprogrammiert.

diesen film kann ich, besonders im arena kino, mehr als empfehlen. ihr könnt euch sicher sein, dass taking woodstock auch euch bezaubern wird und ihr euch ein lachen auf keinen fall verkneifen werden könnt!
